John traces our journey from our first bed (the embryonic sac) to our final bed (the casket.) It also explores the possibility of historic beds in prior lives and future beds (as transplants) in strangers' bodies. All our lives, we return to our beds, that place of privacy, comfort, and containment, where we are most fully and honestly ourselves.
